Clásico RCN. Alex Cano el gran campeón. Jairo Cano ganador de última etapa
Culminó este domingo la 58ª edición del Clásico RCN que vio coronarse como nuevo campeón al antioqueño Alex Cano (Coldeportes-Zenú-Sello Rojo) y donde Jairo Cano (EPM-Scott) fue el vencedor de la última etapa que fue un circuito en Medellín a 45 vueltas.

Culminó este domingo la 58ª edición del Clásico RCN que vio coronarse como nuevo campeón al antioqueño Alex Cano (Coldeportes-Zenú-Sello Rojo) y donde Jairo Cano (EPM-Scott) fue el vencedor de la última etapa que fue un circuito en Medellín a 45 vueltas.
La jornada de cierre fue emocionante con varios intentos de fuga, las que fueron controladas por el equipo del líder Alex Cano. Se cumplieron tres sprint especiales, en el primero salió avante Steven Cuesta (DEPRISA) con segundo lugar para German Chaves (Coldeportes-Zenú-Claro). En el segundo sprint se impuso Pedro Torres (EBSA) y en el último del día el vencedor fue Wilson Marentes (EBSA) y Javier Gómez (Boyacá es para Vivirla) se coronó como el campeón de la modalidad con 25 puntos.
En la primera meta volante salió airoso Robigzon Oyola (Team Medellín), quien se mantenía en la pelea por título de la modalidad con 17 puntos. En la penúltima volante con lote compactó el triunfador fue Steven Calderón (Bicicletas-Strongman-Coldeportes).
Alex Cano a sus 35 años y oriundo de Yarumal, Antioquia se coronó como el nuevo monarca del Clásico y de paso ve cumplido su sueño de ganar una de las grandes carreras del país. En llegada másiva Jairo Cano (EPM-Scott) fue el vencedor y Alex Cano celebró su primera corona.

Colombia participó activamente en el Congreso de la Unión Ciclista Internacional que se celebró en Montreal
Con la presencia del presidente de la Federación Colombiana de Ciclismo, Rubén Darío Galeano, se celebró en Montreal el Congreso de la Unión Ciclista Internacional (UCI) en el marco del Campeonato Mundial de Ciclismo de Ruta 2026. Los delegados de las 206 Federaciones Nacionales miembros de la UCI se reunieron para revisar los principales avances en el ciclismo y votar sobre temas importantes que definirán el futuro de este deporte.
Entre las principales novedades destaca la aprobación de nuevas normas para las barreras situadas en los últimos 200 metros de las carreras. A partir de 2027, las pruebas del UCI WorldTour deberán utilizar estructuras que cumplan los estándares establecidos tras un estudio de la Universidad de Ciencias Aplicadas y Artes de la Suiza Occidental Valais-Wallis. La UCI también quiere acelerar la implantación de sistemas GPS capaces de localizar en tiempo real a corredores y vehículos durante las carreras profesionales.
La organización también aprobó el calendario de la primera edición de la nueva Copa de Naciones UCI de ruta júnior. La competición contará inicialmente con once pruebas entre febrero y julio, repartidas por Europa, América, Oceanía y África, y tendrá su gran final en la Piccola Tre Valli Varesine, en Italia, del 29 de julio al 1 de agosto.
Más controles y nuevas reglas de seguridad

La seguridad ocupó buena parte de la reunión celebrada en Montreal. Además de las nuevas exigencias para las barreras, la UCI considera prioritaria la implantación generalizada de sistemas GPS de seguimiento para conocer en tiempo real la posición de los corredores y los vehículos durante las carreras. El sistema ya fue utilizado en los Mundiales de Kigali 2025 y vuelve a emplearse en Montreal.
El Comité también recibió los primeros resultados del estudio sobre accidentes en carretera iniciado en marzo de 2026 en pruebas del WorldTour y Women’s WorldTour. Después de cinco meses de seguimiento, los datos iniciales apuntan a una mayor frecuencia y gravedad de las lesiones entre las corredoras, con un periodo medio de regreso a la competición aproximadamente dos veces superior al de los hombres.
En materia de regulación, la UCI creará un nuevo marco de consulta con fabricantes y expertos independientes para analizar las normas relacionadas con el equipamiento. Se establecerán diferentes comités técnicos dedicados a familias de productos como ropa, protecciones, ruedas, neumáticos, cuadros y sistemas de datos, con una representación equilibrada entre la industria y la propia UCI.
También se iniciará la revisión de la Carta de Lugano, documento adoptado en 1996 que establece principios fundamentales para el ciclismo internacional. Treinta años después de su aprobación, la UCI considera necesario actualizar su contenido para adaptarlo a la evolución tecnológica, social y deportiva.
En cuanto al calendario, se aprobaron los programas internacionales de 2027 de ciclismo de ruta, mountain bike, BMX racing, BMX freestyle, trial, pista, paraciclismo, ciclismo indoor, gravel y Gran Fondo. La UCI anunció que los calendarios completos estarán disponibles el 29 de septiembre.

También se modificaron las fechas de algunos Campeonatos del Mundo ya adjudicados. Los Mundiales Máster de Mountain Bike de 2027 en Nevados de Chillán se disputarán del 24 al 28 de marzo, mientras que los Mundiales de Mountain Bike de 2030 en Durango pasarán a celebrarse del 28 de agosto al 1 de septiembre.
El Comité aprobó además un nuevo nivel de certificación para directores deportivos. A partir de 2027, quienes trabajen con las selecciones nacionales deberán completar un curso online antes de los Mundiales de Haute-Savoie Mont-Blanc. El requisito se ampliará posteriormente a los directores de los equipos continentales masculinos y femeninos.
La UCI también validó el marco regulatorio para la aplicación de pruebas genéticas en la categoría femenina de determinadas competiciones reconocidas por el Comité Olímpico Internacional, de cara a Los Ángeles 2028. La normativa definitiva será presentada para su aprobación antes de que termine el año y los resultados de las pruebas tendrán carácter confidencial.
El presidente de la UCI, David Lappartient, destacó tras la reunión que las tres jornadas de trabajo habían permitido avanzar en cuestiones relacionadas principalmente con la seguridad, la regulación y el futuro de las diferentes disciplinas. “En materia de seguridad, adoptamos nuevos estándares para las barreras y reafirmamos nuestro compromiso de garantizar el despliegue, lo antes posible, de sistemas GPS de seguimiento de los corredores”, señaló.
La próxima reunión del Comité de Dirección de la UCI tendrá lugar los días 28 y 29 de enero de 2027 en Ostende, Bélgica, en el marco de los Campeonatos del Mundo de ciclocross.

Mundial de Ruta 2026: Zara Sofía Lamprea firmó la mejor actuación colombiana en las pruebas al cronómetro
En una demostración absoluta de potencia, Zara Sofía Lamprea firmó la mejor actuación colombiana en el Campeonato Mundial de Ciclismo en Ruta Montreal 2026 hasta ahora. La nacida en Bogotá hace 17 años detuvo el cronómetro con un tiempo excepcional para consolidarse dentro del top 15 en la exigente prueba de la Contrarreloj Individual (CRI) de la categoría junior femenina.
El circuito urbano trazado por las calles de Montreal, que inició en la avenida du Parc y concluyó en las inmediaciones del icónico parque Jeanne-Mance, planteó un recorrido técnico de 10,7 kilómetros con 91 metros de desnivel acumulado. En este escenario, la vigente campeona de la Vuelta del Futuro estuvo a la altura de las mejores especialistas del planeta, manteniendo un ritmo constante y una aerodinámica impecable en cada curva del trazado canadiense.
El podio de la crono de las juveniles lo adornaron la polaca María Okrucińska, quien ocupó la primera posición acompañada de la belga Yana Decruyenaere 2° y de la británica Aalia Clay 3°. La otra colombiana en competencia, Estefanía Castillo terminó en el puesto 46°.
Con este resultado, Zara Sofía Lamprea revalida su condición como la principal carta de renovación del ciclismo femenino en Colombia. Su presencia en el top 15 mundial ratifica que el proceso deportivo liderado por la Federación Colombiana de Ciclismo marcha por el camino correcto de cara al recambio generacional en la rama femenina.

Karlijn Swinkels recupera el trono del Grand Prix de Valonia; Paula Patiño la suramericana más destacada
En un final a pura velocidad, Karlijn Swinkels (UAE Team L’imad) fue la más rápida en el desenlace y se quedó con la victoria en la quinta edición del Grand Prix de Valonia femenino, que se disputó entre las ciudades de Seraing y Namur, con un recorrido de 127,4 kilómetros.
Los puestos de honor de la clásica belga para mujeres lo completaron la italiana Elisa Balsamo (Lidl – Trek) y la francesa Célia Gery (FDJ United – SUEZ), quienes se subieron al 2° y 3° cajón del podio, respectivamente.

La prueba del calendario europeo femenino tuvo en competencia a dos suramericanas: la colombiana Paula Patiño (Laboral Kutxa – Fundación Euskadi), quien se clasificó el puesto 36° a 53 segundos de la ganadora y la brasilera Ana Vitoria Magalhães (Movistar Team), que finalizó la casilla 45°.
Swinkels, la pedalista neerlandesa de 27 años, que sucedió en el palmarés de la novel carrera europea a la belga Shari Bossuyt, recuperó la corona de esta clásica que ya había conquistado en 2024.
