Tour de Gila: Eric Young ganador en Fort Bayard. Matteo Dal-Cin sigue líder. Daniel Jaramillo, tercero en la general
Eric Young (Rally Cycling) se impuso este jueves en la segunda etapa del Tour de Gila y el canadiense Matteo Dal-Cin (Rally Cycling) se mantuvo como el líder, en una jornada disputada con salida y llegada en Fort Bayard (New México) sobre 120,7 kilómetros. En la clasificación general Daniel Alexander Jaramillo (UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling Team), ahora es tercero a 10 segundos.
Eric Young (Rally Cycling) se impuso este jueves en la segunda etapa del Tour de Gila y el canadiense Matteo Dal-Cin (Rally Cycling) se mantuvo como el líder, en una jornada disputada con salida y llegada en Fort Bayard (New México) sobre 120,7 kilómetros. En la clasificación general Daniel Alexander Jaramillo (UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling Team), ahora es tercero a 10 segundos.
Eric Young de los Estados Unidos, marcó un tiempo de 2 horas, 57 minutos y 56 segundos, tras vencer al sprint a su compatriota Travis MCCABE (UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling Team) y a José Alfredo Aguirre (Canels Specialized), segundo y tercero respectivamente. En lo que se refiere a los colombianos Daniel Alexander Jaramillo (UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling Team), segundo en la etapa de ayer en esta oportunidad arribó 36, Janier Acevedo (UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling Team) fue 41, Dennis Ramírez fue 52, Cristian Avila fue 53, Miguel Andrés Díaz (Cylance Cycling) fue 65 todos con el mismo tiempo del vencedor. Bryan Gómez no terminó la fracción.
La primera emoción del día llegó con la disputa del primer sprint intermedio en el que se impuso Nick Torraco (Elevate-KHS). El ecuatoriano Byron Guamá (Movistar) fue protagonista al obtener la victoria en dos de los premios de montaña. Francisco Mancebo (Bicicletas Canyon), Lachlan Norris (UnitedHealthcare), Stephen Bassett (Silber Pro Cycling) y Michael Rice (Axeon Hagens Berman) protagonizaron una de las escapadas del día. Stephen Bassett fue el ganador del segundo sprint intermedio seguido por Lachlan Norris y Francisco Mancebo.
Luego quedó como único puntero Lachlan Norris, quien alcanzó a tener una renta a favor de 1 minuto y 35 segundos a falta de 25 kilómetros para la línea de meta. El esfuerzo del fugitivo no le alcanzó para buscar el triunfo siendo neutralizado a 10 kilómetros de la meta. Finalmente Eric Young ((Rally Cycling) se quedó con el triunfo dando la segunda victoria a su equipo, mientras Matteo Dan-Cil ganador ayer se mantuvo en el liderato.
