Redlands Bicycle Classic: Daniel Jaramillo campeón de la montaña. Andrés Miguel Díaz el mejor colombiano. Joseph Rosskopf gana la general

Joseph Rosskopf (Hincapie Sportswear Development) se quedó con la clasificación final de la edición 30 de la Redlands Bicycle Classic. El colombiano Daniel Jaramillo (Team Jamis Hagens Berman) fue el mejor escalador de la tradicional carrera norteamérica que terminó este pasado fin de semana en California.

El estadounidense ganó la última fracción, un Circuito en Redlands, que tuvo un recorrido de 151,4 kilómetros por encima de James Oram (Bissell Development Team) y de Bobby Sweeting (5 HR Energy/pb Kenda), quien llegó a meta 30 segundos después.

El mejor colombiano en la jornada fue el vallecaucano Andrés Miguel Díaz (Incycle-Predator Components) en el puesto 29 a más de 3 minutos del vencedor.

En la general individual, Rosskopf registró un tiempo de 12 horas, 18 minutos, 17 segundos, para ser acompañado en el podio por James Oram (Bissell Development Team) y Travis McCabe (Smart Stop), quienes tuvieron un retraso de 6 y 30 segundos respectivamente.

Nuestros 2 mejores escarabajos fueron el propio Díaz en la casilla 27 a 3:40 y el antioqueño Jaramillo quien se clasificó 48 a 21:16 del ganador. El pedalista que más veces se ha impuesto en esta carrera es el actual campeón de la Vuelta a España, Chris Horner, con 4 ediciones (2000, 2002, 2003, 2004). El ex campeón mundial de Contrarreloj Individual, Santiago Botero en el año 2008, ha sido el único victorioso de nuestro país en esta reconocida competencia ‘gringa’.
